President - Mr Dave Allen
Australian Executive Representative
Brigade: Dave has been a director of BB Qld since 2001. Prior to this he was a member of the BB Qld State Executive since 1994. He has had experience at local, regional, state and national levels of BB including as a Company Captain.
Church: Dave has been an elder in his local church since 1977 and has recently completed a period of service as the church treasurer. He has been involved in children and youth work along with his Brigade roles.
Education: Dave has several qualifications in electronics and telecommunications and a Diploma in Project Management.
Employment: Dave had a life-long career with Telstra commencing as a technician and migrating his way through a series of team leadership roles across the company, often operating on national process improvement, and concluding with a time as a Product Manager.
Deputy President - Mr Aaron Palmer
Brigade: Aaron has been a BB leader for more than 20 years, since reaching the age limit as a Boy, and is presently Captain of 4th Logan Company. Aaron has a special interest in camping events and is involved in the organising teams of events such as PAC and Glengarry Gauntlet. He is a former Battalion President and Secretary. Aaron lives to see Boys conquer their fears and master new skills.
Church: As well as his BB involvement, Aaron is a Lay Reader, Lector, bell ringer and usher with St John’s Lutheran Church, Eight Mile Plains.
Education: Aaron has a partial degree in electronic engineering.
Employment: Aaron sees his role an electronic manufacturing manager with Engineering Solutions as a Solutioneer.
Deputy President - Mr Jason Knight
Australian Executive Representative
Brigade: Jason has served in a variety of positions on the BB Qld Executive and Board since 1997 and as one of BB Qld’s representatives to the Australian Executive since 2006. He is presently the Company Secretary of The Boys’ Brigade Queensland Ltd. Jason has served as an Officer in the 1st Rockhampton, 2nd Ipswich and 3rd Gold Coast Companies, and as Captain of 2nd Ipswich Company.
Church: Jason and his family worship at CrossLife Baptist Church (Highland Reserve Campus). He is actively involved in the worship ministry as a worship leader, and Kids Church, where he coordinates the Year 3-6 group.
Community: Jason has held a number of leadership roles in not-for-profit organisations.
Employment: Jason is a High School business and humanities teacher and holds the roles of Head of Department – Business and Academic Projects Co-ordinator at King’s Christian College.
Operations Director - Mr Anthony Campling
Brigade: Anthony has been a BB leader for more than 20 years and has been serving as Captain of 13th Brisbane Company since 2005. Previously, he was a boy in 1st Cairns and 1st Rockhampton Companies and an Officer in 1st Rockhampton and 13th Brisbane Companies.
Church: Keperra Baptist Church. Anthony is involved with the sound desk and playing clarinet and saxophone.
Education: Anthony holds an Associate Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.
Employment: Anthony is employed as a design scheduler for Telstra. He has worked in numerous roles over a career of 20 years – from installation (exchange and customer) to design and now design scheduler for a team of designers.
Anthony is married to Sarah. They have four children.
Development Director - Mr Kenneth Evans
Ken is driven by a desire to see change and growth towards maturity in others.
Brigade: Ken has served as a Company Captain and in executive roles at regional, state and national levels since 19 years of age. He has represented Australia at World Conference (Global Fellowship of Christian Youth). He is currently also Captain of 1st Beaudesert Company and Secretary of South Moreton Battalion.
Church: Beaudesert Baptist Church. Ken has served as a deacon or elder in several churches since 1975, facilitating prayer and church-based in-depth Bible study.
Community: Ken has been active in his community as a volunteer for more than 40 years in several not-for-profit organisations, and has been a Justice of the Peace (NSW).
Education: Ken holds a Certificate IV in Small Business Management, and qualifications in Biblical Studies and Event Management.
Employment: Following a 14 year career in the Australian Army, Ken worked in the security and events industries both in employed and self-employed roles.
Training Director - Mr Michael Richardson
Brigade: Mike has been a leader in 45th Brisbane Company since 2010, after finishing his time as a Boy in the Company. Mike has been involved on staff of the leadership development course during his time as a BB leader.
Church: Mike is part of the Arana Hills Church of Christ, where he is involved with the sound ministry.
Employment: Mike is employed at RACQ as a product data analyst.
Property Director - Mr Ian Walters
Brigade: Ian has served BB in various roles since 1988, including Captain of 23rd Brisbane Company for 10 years, President of No.2 Brisbane Battalion, and the management and operation of Glengarry Education Centre for some 20 years.
Church: Ian was a deacon of Annerley Baptist Church for 20 years.
Employment: Ian has had a variety of management and administrative roles in the earthmoving industry for 40 years. He is a qualified QA Internal Auditor.
Finance Director - Mr Gene Goldby
Brigade: Gene has been a member of BB for over 30 years, of which a significant portion has been as a leader serving in roles at the local, battalion, state and national levels. During this time, he has had significant experience within both rural and city companies and can recognise the impact that BB can have upon the whole family.
Community: Gene has held a number of leadership roles in not-for-profit sporting organisations, including the financial oversight of a national competition.
Education: Gene has both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications within the area of Business as well as vocational qualifications in adult training and assessment.
Employment: Gene has worked in both public practice and within the education sector, undertaking both academic and professional roles. In all roles, he has had significant client contact requiring a range of technical and interpersonal skills.
General Manager - Mr Carlisle Wyllie
Brigade: As well as his position of General Manager, Carlisle is Captain of 3rd Caboolture Company and President of No.3 Brisbane Battalion. He has been a BB leader for 25 years.
Church: Carlisle has been involved with the Uniting Church for over 30 years. He is currently serving as an Elder in the Morayfield Community Uniting Church.
Community: Carlisle is a committee member of his local budgerigar society, and a member of the Australian Heritage Turkey Society.
Education: Carlisle has both undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications within the area of Information Systems as well as vocational qualifications in adult training and assessment, and outdoor recreation (bush walking, canoeing and mountain biking).
Employment: Carlisle has over 25 years of experience working in Information Technology roles in local government and the water industry. In addition to his role with Boys’ Brigade he continues to work part time as an Information Technology consultant.
