Uniform

BB Companies will either wear the Classic or Contemporary uniform option for company nights and other formal occasions (not both).

Classic Uniform Option

seniorCap: All sections wear a navy blue Brigade Field Service Cap.

Shirt: Juniors and Seniors wear a navy blue long-sleeved shirt, with two button-flap patch pockets and epaulettes, while the Anchors wear a light blue polo shirt.

  • Combined Brigade / Company Title sewn centrally onto each sleeve
  • Cloth Section Crest comprising stylised logo worn on the left pocket
  • Brigade Battalion / Group Council Crest worn on the right pocket

On the basis of climate, the wearing of a Short-Sleeved Shirt maybe appropriate.

Armbands: Juniors and Seniors wear Brigade Armbands on their right shoulder for award badges. Seniors also wear a
left armband for special awards and Leadership Braids on their epaulettes.

Shoulder Belt: Brigade white shoulder belt is worn over the right shoulder under the epaulette and looped around the belt at the left hip. Sergeants will wear a red shoulder belt instead of the white belt. Staff Sergeants have the option of a Brigade leather Should Belt.

Tie: A light blue tie is worn, neatly tied with the tip of the tie just reaching the top of the waste belt buckle. The tie is worn behind the shoulder belt.

Shorts: Anchors and Juniors wear navy blue shorts.

Trousers: Seniors wear navy blue trousers with belt loops.on the basis of climate, the wearing of navy blue shorts maybe appropriate.

Belt: Black leather with BB buckle.

Socks: When wearing trousers, short navy blue socks are worn, if wearing shorts Brigade long socks are worn.

Shoes: Black leather, capable of being polished.

Rank Insignia: Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) rank (Stripes) are worn on each epaulette

Climate options: In hot weather, the Captain may approve for Company Parade nights, that long sleeves be worn rolled to above the elbow, and ties and shoulder belt omitted. For cold weather, a Brigade approved navy blue jumper or jacket may be worn. On Company nights or casual outings for those Boys or Companies wearing shorts, navy blue track suit pants or slacks may be worn.

Contemporary Uniform Option

Cap: BB navy blue baseball style cap with BB logo on front or the navy blue field service cap or the broad brim hat may be worn.

Shirt: The BB navy blue Polo Shirt with stylised logo embroidred on left breast pocket area. Brigade Section Name woven tape, with the word 'Seniors', or 'Juniors' immediately worn centrally below the shirt logo. The Anchors uniform remains the same as their classic, wearing a light blue polo shirt.

Armbands: Brigade Armbands (right and/or left arm) for award badges. Where the Right Armband is worn the Brigade / Company Title is sewn onto the armband. Each badge and Leadership Braid when achieved is also worn.

Belt: Brigade black leather belt, with BB buckle.

Slacks/Shorts: Either navy blue slacks or navy blue shorts can be worn with Brigade socks.

Shoes: Black leather, capable of being polished.

Rank Insignia: Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) rank shall be designated by the relevant Badge, 1, 2 or 3 'V' shaped stripes to denote the particular rank: Lanc Corporal - 1 stripe; Corporal - 2 stripes; Sergeant - 3 stripes.

Climate options: For cold weather, a Brigade approved navy blue jumper or jacket may be worn. On Company nights or casual outinge for those Boys or Companies wearing shorts, navy blue track suit pants or slacks may be worn.

 

In addition, Companies may adopt a special 'company uniform' (usually a unique shirt) for use in general public or at special inter-company, Battalion or State events (eg. sporting, competitions).
