BB Knowledge Candidate Handbook

The BB Knowledge Badge requires a number of components to complete, including the

  • BB Knowledge Project,
  • Drill Assessment,
  • and BB Knowledge Interview.

Completion of the BBKnowledge Badge is a prerequisite for any boy wanting to attain the Queen's Badge.  The Boys Brigade Knowledge Badge may only be attempted by boys at least 16 BB Age

BB Knowledge Project

The BB Knowledge project is a project to be written that investigates a BB related topic and is at least 2000 words (excluding appendices and supporting documentation), or an equivalent effort (where an alternative medium of communication is selected). It is expected to show an in-depth understanding of the area being researched. The topic is to be approved by the BB Qld Operations Director () prior to starting.

Drill Assessment

You will be assessed on your ability to direct a Squad through an approved Drill Routine and your ability to teach prescribed movements to a Squad of boys. Specific information about this part of the award can be found on page 6 of the Candidate Handbook

BB Knowledge Interview Resources

The BB Knowledge Badge requires a number of components to complete, including the BBKnowledge interview, which is undertaken at Battalion level. Completion of the BBKnowledge Badge is a prerequisite for any boy wanting to attain the Queen’s Badge.

Service to the Community Resources

The Service to the Community Badge requires 15 hours of volunteer work for a community organisation. Level 3 has an increased focus on assisting disadvantaged people and direct contact with the people being assisted. It is important to remember that the proposal for the service provided as a part of Level 3 Service to the Community must be submitted to the BB Operations Director () and approved before commencing the service.
